Try to avoid any fad diets, like 30-day programs or diets that prohibit eating whatsoever, i.e. liquid diets. While these types of programs might produce short-term results, they do absolutely nothing to get at the root causes of why people gain weight in the first place. In other words, they're worthless.

A great way to lose weight is to cut down on all the fat-laden condiments you use. Eliminating butter from your diet is a start. Many salad dressings are also very high in fat. It's always best to opt for low-fat, non-fat or sugar-free condiments.

A good way to help you lose weight and be successful with your diet is to not dwell too much about your progress. Stay busy with work or with your friends and family and try not too much about your weight loss. Thinking about it too much can cause you to lose motivation because you want to see results right away.

As you can see, weight loss is possible for anyone, but it is tough. Anything worth it usually is. If you are willing to take the weight off, and aren't afraid of a little hard work and some change, you will see the weight fall off in no time.

Who would have thought that brushing your teeth is not only good for oral hygiene, but also for weight loss? Research has shown that brushing your teeth after you eat slows your appetite, and you will also be less likely to want to eat so you keep that fresh, just-brushed feeling for a while.
